Our first time to visit the Azores, and have just spent 4 days on Flores where Monica’s father was from, it is totally green with dozens of waterfalls, some falling for a thousand feet. As July and August are The main months for flowers,we see mostly green. The roads are densely lined with Hydrangea bushes for miles and a number of other flowering bushes and trees. It must be spectacular with color in the summer. The food has been a bit of a disappointment, they have a lot of dairy cows, but don’t seem to do much gardening, all of their fruits, fruits, veggies, meats come by boat, but for two of our four days here the weather was too bad to land a boat or plane, so the shelves of the stores were bare. How blessed we are at home with numerous choices of foods readily available.
